VHT: V-Drive (Part 1)

New pedal; VHT's V-Drive. As I am not pedal-inclined, I wasn't aware it's new for 2011, bought it because it does the Tubescreamer voicing but has other clipping modes ranging from ordinary to FAT, putting it simply. Also, there's some kinda voodoo in here as it sounds very convincing in its tube emulation. So there we have it, enough reasons (for me) for purchase.

The other intriguing feature in store is the Voltage variant control. If you wish for this pedal to sound like it's running on a semi-depleted battery, just mess with this knob. Maybe Eric Johnson can now leave his battery be in this box & just turn the knob. But doubt if he would want one, anyway...

Something special

VHT's Special 6 amps are in store @ Davis GMC. You can choose either the combo or the stacked version, both are single channel models so you get only a clean take on your tone.

You are keen on a full tube amp, yes? So be informed that there is a price revision for both amps- it's a DECREASE this time round. This doesn't happen too often; price revisions usually see the listing going up instead of coming down but the good people @ Davis are going with the source changes. I was informed that the stacked version could be had for less than $350 (FYI the driver in the 12" open back cab is a Celestion G12H30) although the final tag price have yet to be disclosed. Good news for you?
